Is the city buying this lot??? What will happen to the summer Farm Market??? Who will control how and where you park?? I agree we sure need more off street parking. Wonder how the neighbors will like the high volt lighting.
I thought the city is leasing this land from Condon. It will be great for boat/trailer parking in town. Lets charge these people money to park after they have to pay to launch their boats! Stick it to em, them damn fishermen! Keep the tourists away from our sleepy little town.
The City has a one year lease on this parking lot. It is intended for boat trailer & vehicle parking for people using the Deacon Mills Park landing. This is a trial period and the City will evaluate this after one year.
Thanks Donna.
The farm market could set up by playground park, couldn't they? There is that nice shelter close to the street, and the vendors might actually do better there. I never really liked stopping on South St, anyway. Same for the "pea sale". The 4-H plant sale is always in the park and it's a great spot for that type of thing.
I was glad to see that the county board tabled the boat launch fees. If we are trying to attract tourism to Green Lake, charging people to launch their boat is not the way to do it. Common sense prevails!
