Karen Land @ the Library April 18

Karen Land who has run in the Itarod Race three times will be here with one of her dogs Saturday, April 18th at 10:00 am. She will be giving a talk about the race and I think this will be one of the most interesting talks the library has this year.

Right... and April 18th is a Saturday.
I'm looking forward to the program. I hope she has lots of great photos. The Iditarod has got to travel some of the most awesome wild country there is.

Here's my ignorance showing through... what's an "Itarod" race?

I already know the days and dates of the week, thanks to some posters above.

First, it is Iditarod and if you click on the poster (picture of the poster) there is information about the race. In a nutshell: 1,150 miles dog sled race in the Alaskan wilderness taking from 10-15 days (approximate)...very grueling, difficult, and potentially dangerous.
And the presentation is on Saturday, April 18th which is a week after today, which is April 11th. Which is the day before Easter Sunday, April 12th.
If anyone hasn't heard, Christmas this year will be on December 25th.

What about Kwanzaa and Cinco de Mayo? I noticed that you intentionally left them off the list. Such a biased, prejudiced world we live in. And what day of the week does Juneteenth day fall on this year?

the same day as festivus! duh!!

My thanks to the nice person above who responded as to what an Iditarod race is. Sounds facinating, I'm going to attend the program.

This is off subject, Chief, but what does it mean under your 'Blog list' when it states 14 hours ago, 12 hours ago, etc.? Is this when you last posted on these blogs, when you listed these blogs on your site, or something else? Thanks.
