New Cop Car

Has anyone noticed Chief Huber (there is another chief in town) driving his new police car? You can thank Mike Havey for that when you are buying a drink at Norton's. Ask him about the fire truck when you are there spending your money.

Hey Chief...For those of us that won't have a chance to eat or drink at Norton's, can you tell us more? Ar you saying Mr. Havey donated a car?

I only met Mr Havey once and he seemed like a really nice guy. I know his generosity towards Green Lake through the years has been a level that a lot more folks should strive for. There's to much of the attitude that "its my money and no one else is going to get it". To many people think we're going to stuff their coffins with their cash.

Chief..I happen to know the Havey family, and can't compliment them enough for the contributions they have made to this community. They try to lead by example! The fire truck, bullet proof vests, providing equipment for the police car(s), and working very hard to make Norton's a fun and enjoyable place for locals and guest to our community....and the list goes on...and yet, believe it or not, there are some people in this community that have made some very hurtful and disparaging remarks about these contributions. There are always some that have to take away from the gracious hearts and efforts of others. Humm...wonder if those bad attitudes are partly why the community is not growing like it should be.. I say, this town needs to wake up and start recognizing those people that are contributing monetarily, or volunteering their time and knowledge to improving the community, and start coming down hard on the people with the negative attitudes. There are always some who try to find some negative element in the goodness of others. I for one would like to thank Mike Havey and his family for the good example and the contributions they have made. Hopefully the negative attitudes of some will not put a grey cloud over the nice things they have done for this community.

Next time your in Norton's give the guy a pat on the back -- he is really a great and community dedicated person!

Who the hell was being negative, anonymous?....I suggest you re-read the Chief's post and the post previous to yours. Since you are the only one to have mentioned 'negative' we'll attribute the negativity towards you and you only. Thanks again for raising controversy in pursuit of negativity, from where there was only conversation in pursuit of the information, whatever that information might turn out to be.

You put fear into those of us who would strive only to air our opinion in a community designed specifically for the airing of opinion without boundaries. (unless the said opinion should cross into the realm of poor taste).
I suggest the blog environment is not suited to your personality. I believe there's a chat room on the Martha Stewart website, I humbly suggest that you take your rhetoric there.

Hey DB, I think your response to the previous poster was way off. I guess this is the kind of response we should expect from a "Drunken Bastard".

My take on it was that His/Her post was very supportive of the Havey's and only suggests that others could do a lot more. I don't believe it deserved your response.

DB, did you not have your morning coffee yet? The only negative comment was yours. Settle down a little bit.

I wish people would make up a name for theselves or sign off with some initials or whatever. It would make for easier communication.

Aside from a compliment to the Havey's, we had -
"there are some people in this community that have made some very hurtful and disparaging remarks....
....there are always some that have to take away from the gracious hearts and efforts of others......
...wonder if those bad attitudes are partly why the community is not growing like it should be.....
...I say, this town needs to wake up....
....people with the negative attitudes....
....There are always some who try to find some negative element in the goodness of others....."

I stand behind my comments.

It is sad that good deeds seem to be met with any hint of negativity, whther it be on this blog or on the street. We should be grateful that there are such generous people that want to help make Green Lake a better/safer place. We should also strive to get all the facts before we make comments. Mike Havey did NOT donate a new police car.
Not being afraid to sign our names would also be good idea. THANK YOU VERY MUCH to all of the Havey family for your generosity and efforts. Please don't give up on us.

Did we need a new squad car ?

I heard that Mike wanted to donate the car but Huber declined but was very gracious for the offer. I am not saying this is fact just something I heard awhile back.

Well Huber is driving a new car. That's all I know.

FREE is good! Any donations, especially such grand gestures as this, should be gratefully accepted and appreciated. I am sure they are. Will Mr. Havey buy me a new car? I am not a police chief but could start a vigilante group if that would help my cause.

Maybe Mike Havey could run for mayor. :}

Could Mr. Harvey donate money to the school so they wouldn't have to make all the budget cuts for next year? If the school closes GL probably won't have a need for the police.

I could use some money for beer, if there's any left after all the handouts.

havey didn't buy the squad...get your info right...he did equip the squad...thank him then wait to see if he asks for favors down the road.....industrial park construction.....

Hey Anon. I don't think the chief mentioned Havey buying the cop car. Get your information right. but I bet it is more than you have done for the city recently and what is the big deal if he does get consideration for the industrial park. We need the business all the way around.
