Green Lake Conference Center Development
The ABA is already moving greens 5 & 6 in anticipation of the new development. I am confused about the ABA need for money through development but spending several hundred thousand dollars (possibly as much as a million, I’ve heard) they supposedly don’t have for a development that hasn’t been approved yet? Where is this money coming from if they are trying to develop to raise money? Do they know something already?

No matter what happens, this frees up some prime potential lake lots for future sales, should the current deal fall through. They can do the work in-house and save big bucks. I hope they don't screw up the layout though.
I am not a business genius or anything but it seems rather obvious that the ABA is not being managed very well if they are losing money consistantly. The ABA could sell their expensive lots and it wouldn't matter in the long run if they don't get somebody in there who knows how to run a business successfully (at a profit). What a tragic shame it would be to see that beautiful complex ruined by development. I'd rather see them sell the entire place to a large corporation who knows how to run a business.
Maybe they should sell the whole place to Hilton, Marriott, or some other large resort hotel chain. They have many beautiful resorts around the world, and would at least have a plan and the money to back it up.
They would also bring other benefits to the area; taxes, jobs, etc.
If tourism is the name of the game for Green Lake, this might be the answer.
Heck, it might even restore or exceed the former glory days of Lawsonia.
Exactly! The woodlands golf course is rated one of the best in the country. Turning the ABA into an upscale resort would be fantastic, it could be the premier midwest getaway.
