Congratulations to Ellen Koeppen at the Chamber

I think Ellen is a great choice for the new Chamber Director. She is energetic, has the background and loves the area. Dusty you will be missed for your many years of service but just remember that one little word. I think you know what it is.

"Energetic" is an understatement. Way to go Chamber. That was the best decision you have made in years!! Welcome Ellen!! Thank you Dusty for your years of commitment to the Chamber. Here's to the future. Let's all meet at Nortons for a toast. (dutch treat)

I don't know Ellen, but am sure the Chamber has chosen well. My family and I are looking forward to the continued success of Green Lake's community events, but are also hoping that Ellen will have the foresight to implement some changes. Many of the festival "traditions" have grown old and stale, and it's time to try new things! We are eager to see what the new gal can do!

I hope your family will help out with the events if you expect changes. Most of this years events are already in the planning stages, prior to Ellyn's appearance. What are you looking for? Give your suggestions to Ellyn. Those of us who constantly work these events for others to enjoy would appreciate a break.

My family and I have helped out with Chamber events in the past and have always enjoyed it. I felt that my blog was positive and the reaction I received was not. The above blogger sounds a bit tired and whiney. Go take a nap, or better yet, if you don't want to help with Chamber events any more, then please step aside. These events are supposed to be fun and energetic, and a tired ol' grump "helping" out is the last thing we need. If you don't want to do it, then don't do it.

blah blah...
another wannabee with NO marketing qualifications.
Why even bother.

I thought she did have a marketing background. And yes, some of the events that the chamber does year after year do need a face lift. The summer solstice is a complete waste of time, we went last year and it was actually pathetic. Didn't the chamber lose money on it last year? Why not change the theme and start some new ideas in motion.

Ok, I don't think e. jon is really a "mister", he just likes to be an "e." or an "e.jon". So, anyway, I was thinking that even though he may have to discipline a student every now and then, don't you think that despite his age and that stomach, that guy is really pretty cute? Seriously, he must be pretty much the best looking guy in town, don't ya think? Really, best smile, best skin, best teeth, best dressed, so since he gets discipline right 99.99% of the time, the rest is well, I don't know, just human nature.

Hey! Did anyone see the CBS Morning News this morning? It was about the people who have the BIG book collection on the south side of the Lake. They did not say it was Green Lake but I know it was. There was even a brief scene where they showed the Library book sale sign!
Did anyone know that CBS news was in town? Was there anything in the paper? NOOOOOO... because we would not want any extra attention to our small town! Look at what happened in Oshkosh with the Depp movie!! It made the national news and every other TV rag show.
Whats up with this? We want people to come to our town and spend money but we have no idea what is going on! DUH!!!

Pardon me, but there WAS a newspaper story previewing the castle/bookstore appearance on national TV. It was in the Ripon Commonwealth last week, with a great big photo to boot. The same paper also reported about Green Lake's other upcoming TV appearance this week.

shhhhhh....don't say it so loud!

Green Lake is a quaint little village, its only function is to serve as a money-maker for real estate companies and land developers. The last thing we need is more people in town and riff-raff making a noise out on the lake.....

Let's keep it real quiet and quaint so the realtors can get fatter and richer....

I found it quite strange that on the CBS morning show that they never mentioned the library was in Green Lake. Just on "hwy K in central WI". The only reason I caught the show was because of the article in the Commonwealth. It was a great and interesting show. I wish that others would know where to find the library.

So... what you are saying is that we in Green Lake have to buy the RIPON paper to find out what is going on in Green Lake? What is up with that? I guess I will start buying the Commonwealth instead of the Reporter. Probably has more stuff in it anyway!
