Does anyone know the results from the election?

Let's just say Celest King ought to be worried. So should Ken Bates, because King voted in favor of extending Bates' contract last month. It only passed by one vote.

I don't know about you but the last person I want representing our school/community is someone more concerned about not making enemies rather then sticking up for what they believe is right. You can disagree with Celest all you want but I can tell you she voted from her heart with little concern for whether it would be "politically" popular. That my friend is the sign of a excellent puiblic servent. Celest, no matter what happens with the current election thank you for your past service to our school and community.

Board members can stick up for what they believe is right until the cows come home, but that doesn't mean the voters will necessarily agree. Clearly they don't in Celest's case.

In the end, it's not about your beliefs or how you stuck with them. The voters will decide what the district's priorities should be. Based on the primary election results, they've already made a huge statement. The the people are speaking with their ballots.

The results are in the Ripon Commonwealth. Harley, Meade, and Emmett received the most votes. Celeste came in fourth. The other two candidates were eliminated.

Clearly the voters support Harley but not Celest. Sure says a mouthful about the public's feelings on the Lindenwood mess, Sunnyside land nonsense, and Bates' contract.

Harley is a lock. Meade and Emmet will have to duke it out for the remaining spot.
