Did anybody see this article in the Milwaukee Journal from last week? The Baraboo Bank, parent company of the Green Lake State Bank got $20.7 million from the TARP bailout from the federal government.

Does anyone know why this bank should need a bailout? This is scary!

Didn't they have some embezzlement issues a while back? Hmm, I would think they would have been watched quite carefully. On the other hand, how many banks are in good shape?

Just because a small independant bank is getting tarp funds does not mean a thing. Many Banks are applying and why not? If the big guys can get cheap money so should the little banks. The small banks were not involved in sub-prime lending like the big guys like M&I. Take a look at what their stock has done. And what about the Mortgage Brokers who got us in this mess! Like Countrywide!
Why are they even in business and why do idiots who have no downpayment think they have earned the right to buy a house?
