I want to know what our new Mayor has been doing concerning this flood. Our old Mayor was out and about checking residents homes in the 2004 flooding. He had a phone campaign to get information out. Where is the information about FEMA, claims and help for us flooded homeowners. Too busy with his businesses?
Have you had your head in the water? It's been all over the news and in the Oshkosh Northwestern. Check out the Green Lake county web site, there is plenty of information on who to contact.
I saw the mayor assisting the fire department with the sandbagging effort at the dam.
Leave the Mayor alone hes been there most of the time. If you were flooded the last time you know who to contact. If you didnt do anything about it its not his fault. Move to higher ground he lives up there.
The day-care center on Scott Street should clean up all the gravel that washed out of their parking lot and has been in the street for over a week now. There is quite a lot of loose gravel, and it is a safety hazard for autos and bikes alike.
Now that the GL's city maintenence building is flood damaged, the city will get rid of the ugly thing! That park area could be the prettiest part of dowtown if only they would move those ugly pole sheds and the garbage that goes along with them. A perfect time to beautify Green Lake!
That is a great idea! There is plenty of room at the county grounds for two pole sheds, why not move them there? The spot where they presently sit is an environmentally sensitive area, with the river and the marsh, and Green Lake should be more concerned about preserving the environment.
The old public works building should be 90% torn down and turned into a nice pavillion for events, farmers market, baseball picnics, and other uses. A great time to turn that area into a fireman's type park like many other towns have.

Other cities has just such a thing, and there is a reasonable rental fee for using the pavillion. The city where I used to live had this, and the place was booked every weekend, for family reunions, weddings, church picnics, and other community events. This is exactly what Green Lake needs, and it would be a huge improvement for the downtown area.
I agree! GL would benefit from an outdoor public place for groups and organizations to hold events. I think the other towns in the area do great fun things at their park shelters and pavilions. The entire athletic facility layout could be improved to accommodate the many differ sports events throughout the year.
I agree, too. It would be the perfect place for a pavillion, adjacent to the ball field, with a pretty view of the river. This is such a great idea! Add a few gardens, a fountain, some park benches etc and it would be gorgeous. Is there anywhere feasable that the city could relocate the public works buildings? If there is room at the county grounds, that would be perfect. There is plenty of unused/wasted space there. If the city receives any FEMA money, perhaps that some of it could go to relocate the buildings and get the ball rolling. :)

This is great news. I haven't seen anything in the paper about it. Are they going to tear down the old one and that other nasty storage building? Progress in Green Lake! Finally. I guess all we needed was a new mayor and a flood.
What do you mean you haven't seen anything in the paper about it? The Ripon newspaper had a big story on it a few weeks go.
So you have to read the Ripon paper if you want to hear any news about Green Lake?

And if you're a business owner in GL, unless you pay for advertising, your business doesn't exist according to the Green Lake paper. If they have to take a photo of the downtown, they'll airbrush your business out!
