The School and Discover Wisconsin?

Did anybody read the notice in the Ripon paper about the Green Lake School District paying $15,000 to Discover Wisconsin, a PBS show, to feature Green Lake? The school district got rid of Jimmy Janke a 32 year employee because they couldn't afford it.

This is article is right next to an article about the school board cutting people because of budget concerns. What about administration cuts? Does Green Lake need a full time superintendent? I understand Princeton has a part-time superintendent. Couldn't we share one with them?

How do they afford this?

I did not see the notice in the Ripon paper, was it in this weeks edition?

I am appalled and disgusted by this news. Bates and Tracy are the worst thing that have ever happened to the Green Lake school system. I would love for nothing more than to see them both leave.

Green Lake does NOT need a full time superintendent. I believe our school district should implement a plan to share a superintendent with another local school district. Also, why are we paying a ridiculously large salary to Deb Kneser when her job could easily be handled by other administrative personnel? THIS IS A TINY SCHOOL SYSTEM! My high school had several thousand students and the same amount of adminitrative staff as Green Lake.

Hopefully the two new school board members can help the Green Lake district to become financially responsible once again. Cutting valuable programs and teachers while administrators receive big raises is simply not acceptable.

The article mentioned was in the May 1 issue. Check at the Library, they usually keep the local papers for a couple of weeks.

The school administration is controlled by the school board, who should answer to the voters in this district. Just prior to the two new BOE members taking their seats, the old BOE approved extending the employment contract for Bates early to secure his position for two years. Once again, we are stuck with administrators who, in order for them to leave, will have to be bought out of their contracts, or ride them out until their contracts expire. Costing the tax payers big bucks anyway you look at it.

Some of us have been voicing our concern about these school issues for years now, we been called every name in the book and then some. For those of you just waking up to the problems facing our school, to you I say sorry but I think it’s to late, the school is taking on water fast and I do not see anyone or anything able to save it now.

Has anyone else noticed that Mr. Tracy has a different office with a newer administrative assistant! Where do we have the money to pay for that?

Mr. Tracy and his "blond" have been in their new office all year. Where have you been? Guess you aren't one of the lucky parents who has had a child in the "in school suspension" program, you wouldn't believe the gossip they come home with after spending the hour/day (or whatever time frame) in his office!

Who is the new janitor that is there this week? What is that all about?

Attn Staff:
There is an opening for a part time cleaning person at school. This position is for four hours per shift. Please see Mr. Bates or Mr. Scharfenberg if interested. Applications are available in the district office.

If you get hired, just remember to kiss Tracy's ass and you'll be just fine

why wouldn't they have offered Jim to part time??

DUH, because it wasn't about the need to reduce the time of the postition, it was about screwing an employee who has cared about the school for over 30 years. Doesn't this sound a lot like the aid positions last year at this time???? We're cutting three aid positions to save money, but low and behold, we now have three new people who have taken their places. We got rid of Mrs. Ratter because she was "spreading evil", but now no one does her duties. What a stellar place to work!

Hey Highknocker, what's the latest? I realize you are busy but us palefaces need some blog action. Please update us and we will be happy.

Might the firing of Jimmy have anything to do with his pension??

Hat's off to the city crews for the speedy clean-up of trees and debris here in Green Lake! Way to go, guys!

Come on Chief...start some new blogs. This is getting boring. We can't say much more about the school. We already know what a complete mess it is.

Anonymous said...

If the chief won't start some new blog topics, I will! Does anyone know the city policy on garbage pick-up? When we bought our home here in GL, we were told by the realtor that garbage must be placed in garbage cans with covers. Yet every Monday morning we see that more than half of the homes have their trash sitting out in bags and many of them are torn open by animals. If there is a city ordinance, it would be nice to see it enforced.

I was just wondering, if they fired Dan Leuke based on seniority, why didn't they use that method with the janitors? Alot of things at the school seem inconsistent.

Anonymous said...

They didn't "Fire" Dan, it was considered "A reduction in force" due to budget cuts but.........He was more than qualified to teach the "At Risk" program (Which he is currently doing in Hustisford WI), but it was given to an unknown person instead. By the way, Gary Krahn or Barb Born could also have taken that position as the person who did get it had to get an emergency license as he was not qualified either. None of the three employees who had been teaching at the school for a large number of years were even CONSIDERED for the job. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Keep digging, the dirt pile will get deeper! Or, should we say the pile of !@#$ will get deeper!

Anonymous said...

Speaking of dirt...what's up with an administrator and a school board member bike riding????

Anonymous said...

Hmmmmmmmmmmm perhaps there is a bit more than bike riding going on..........That may also explain why the administrator can do whatever he wishes with no checks and balances......again hmmmmmmmmmmmm

The last two anonymous bloggers from June 28th and June 30th..... What you are suggesting is a very ugly and hurtful thing. From everything I know about how our administrator and school board president conduct their personal lives, all they do is try to live well and by their faith. When you write such things, you start unfounded rumors, and you can destroy lives. There's nothing funny about hateful, hurtful intentions and trying to start gossip with no basis.

For everyone's sake, I hope you will reconsider in the future before you throw such trash as this out in public.

If you think I am wrong, try having a private conversation with your pastor and get their take on
what they think about what you are writing.

I know we can do better than this, as a society, with our written words and use of free speech.

Anonymous said...

Oh spare me! People who conduct themselves in such a manner and put themselves in such positions open themselves up to public scrutiny. If you don't want the public talking about you, don't go on "private" bike rides around the lake, try taking your SPOUSE with you. Oh, I know, the next thing you'll say is "Well, maybe they don't like to bike" well then take up a hobby that they do enjoy doing with you. Those of us who really know what's up at the school can't be shamed into feeling bad for publicizing what's really going on. If people only knew the HALF of it. I'm sure my pastor would be fine with all of this because isn't "Thou shall not commit adultery" one of the Ten Commandments??????????????? Yup.

You people are sick and if the majority of Green Lake County citizens saw this blog they would be embarrassed to see one of their colleagues attempting to destroy innocent people's reputations because they have nothing better to do than sit at home on their computer, hide behind cowardly anonymity, and commit copious amounts of defamation of character. Additionally, check your facts. If you want to have a valid argument maybe you shouldnt be so obviously ignorant. You are embarassing yourself.

"Conduct themselves in such a manner" what manner? To go on a bike ride?

"Don't go on "private" bike rides around the lake" this just shows how ignorant and incorrect your facts are. It was a PUBLIC GROUP bike ride with dozens of attendees.

"Thou shall not commit adultery." You should hope that someone in this county does not contact law officials and file a lawsuit for defamation of character.

In the new world of technology your anonymous posts are logged and associated to your physical address through internet protocols. With the Patriot Act in place law enforcement officials can find the exact place, computer, and user that was writing the false accusations. Maybe you should think twice before sharing your sick false views, or justice will find you where you sit.

Thank you to the good sense of the two anonymous bloggers, to try to
make sick people think before they put such poison on their keyboard.

To accuse someone of something like this with no basis, is getting down to the mud level of the supermarket tabloids.
C'mon Green Lake..... lets keep ourselves on a higher plane of communication, than trash spewing from some bored person's sick perspective.

I love the comment of easy access by authorities to find out who is putting out this garbage. That would be a good one to see posted in the Green Lake Journal for all to see. Then we'll find out how strongly they feel about suggesting garbage that can destroy an innocent person's character

Promotion of the school/community is always a good investment. The Discover Wisconsin segment becomes a recruiting tool that can be distributed to interested parties and even potential homeowners. It only takes a few open enrollment transfers to recover the entire investment.

Before criticizing Deb Kneser's role, ask how many $$ in successful grants she has written. I suspect that you may learn that she more than pays for her position and that GLSD would actually lose revenue if her position was eliminated.

Finally, before getting so excited about our school costs, ask a Woodland Circle resident how much their taxes went down a few years ago when they left the Ripon district. As a % of property value, GLSD is still a "bargain" and merging with any surrounding district will take real $$ out of our pockets.

Let's figure out how to make our school work, not how to kill it!!

Ohhhhh I love all this gossip, only a few people are trying to ruin it with threats of the government: 'Big Brother's' gonna get you for voicing your voice here... what's this blogging all about anyways. I thought it was sharing info and opinions. Sooooo Homeland Security is going to be interested in the affairs of our little school here in Green Lake, so much so that they would expose anyone who dares to say something negative about anyone and even publish it in the Green Lake Reporter... OH MY, I so ascared!!!

And all these Anonymous writers bad mouthing all the other Anonymous writers.. how dare they remain anonymous it's only some people's rights to remain anonymous... Come on people - at least come up with a username that's creative or something like 'mad as hell' - that was a good one. And for all of you that think the government should be controlling everything people say or do - well, then you probably don't appreciate the 'Freedom' you have here in the USA. Maybe you should move to Russia or something!

Anyhow, sort of got off on a tangent there with all the anonymousing! Anonymous (1) I guess I'll call you since you were the first Anonymous poster... gets confusing... I couldn't agree with you more and that goes for Anonymous number (3) as well.

As for all the Anonymous's who were having a little fun blogging about the escapades (not the Heidel House) of Mr. Tracey - right on!!! You didn't accuse anyone directly of anything and all you other Anonymous's with the vivid imaginations should take a breath... man you'd think the guy had been actually accused of something... maybe you know more than we and hence feel the need to defend this guy... hummmmmmm as Anonymous number (19) (I think) said.

Oh and I didn't mean to leave out 'Paleface' & 'Frogger' - great usernames!!! At least it's a lot better than 'anonymous said' over and over and over and over!!!
