Get out and vote. Short of giving a candidate a pile of money your vote is all that matters to them anymore. It is the only power you have if you aren't rich. Vote..its all you have left.

I was so glad that Hillary did not win in Wisconsin! She is the spawn of Satan!

My friend lives in the UK, and I have shared with her the political dream of Hillary Clinton of implementing universal health care here in the USA. Here is what she emailed to me today:

To have universal health care in the US would probably be the worst thing that could ever happen. At first, it would seem wonderful and fantastic, but over the years it would become as it is here - corrupt, run by men in suits and not the doctors and specialists, long waiting cues (or pay to be seen quicker, hence pay twice since a monthly cost comes out of your salary), destroyed by targets (people kept in an ambulance outside of a hospital because they won't be seen within a set 3 hour period and if they were admitted they would mess up the targets), everything decided by money/money wasted on admin and pen pushers and new computer systems that aren't needed........oh, I could go on and on and on.

In fact, on a daily basis, here is what our version does for me bearing in mind that I pay a monthly fee (18% so it is quite high) for it out of my salary and cannot opt out:

1. Back treatment - I have to pay as the universal care does not recognise what it calls ''alternative'' therapies such as osteopaths/chiropractors.
2. Counselling - I have to pay because my doctor did not deem me as suicidal when I asked for help.
3. Any out patient treatment I have had has been paid for by me because it was not in-patient treatment. By the way, inpatient treatment had a waiting list of almost two years at the time.
4. If I need any medications such as antibiotics then I pay for each item on a prescription because I am working (the whole system favours lazy people not employed as they would get everything for free).
5 I pay 50% of the charge for dental care because I am working.
6. Opticians - pay full fee because I wear mostly contact lenses and am working (only the least expensive glasses are on the service).

oh and 7. I do get the contraceptive pill free. Yippee! It finally does something for me. Wow, that is worth 18% of my salary every month!

Big deal eh? Basically, the system is so out of sync that it hardly helps working people like myself at all. However, non urgent operations are being delayed until the person has shown that they have lost weight/given up smoking etc before they get the operation. I agree with that in most/nearly all cases. Also, the worst part of all is that treatment can now be denied depending on where you live simply because that person happens to live in a part of the country that has spent all of their government money for that year. Totally crazy. However, a different district about a mile away has tons of money but is not allowed to treat people outside of their district.

I hope you think about this before voting for a candidate who supports universal health care. The last thing we need here in the USA is the government running our medical system!

I don't have any insurance and the thought of my wife or I getting sick and having to go to the doctor or hospital scares me a lot. A buddy at work, who's wife has health care, say a recent check up cost them about $350 of which they paid about $100. I couldn't pay either of those amounts.

And my wife has to pay for her birth control pills!

That UK plan sounds like a lot when you got nothing!!

Maybe you should have a better job and be able to take care of your family.

How arrogant.

Not arrogant, just true. Why do Americans think that they deserve the best of everything even though they contribute little or nothing? Most of the people who don't have health insurance have chosen that way of life and don't want to work any harder than they have to in order to exist. Ironically, they probably spend money on cigarettes and beer and junk food, but they can't afford to live healthy (eat healthy food and exercise) or pay for their own health care. What a crock of crap.
