The Green Lake School System Forum

I HAVE MOVED MOVED THE COMMENTS HERE OVER TO THE NEW MESSAGE BOARD SO THEY ARE ALL IN ONE PLACE AND EVERYBODY WHO HAS SOMETHING TO SAY CAN DO IT IN ONE PLACE. PLEASE POST ANY NEW SCHOOL COMMENTS THERE. THANKS. JUST CLICK ON THE LINK TO THE RIGHT AND TAKE IT FROM THERE.

There seem to be a lot people who would like to have a forum for the Green Lake School District. I agree with them. I am in the process of changing this format so more people can start creating their own "feeds". I am pretty ignorant on problems with the school system but I get a lot of emails want a school system spot to discuss this isuse. So until I get the new format up so you can start your own "feed" here is the Green Lake School Forum for you.

Thank you Chief! I don't even know where to begin when it comes to problems with the Green Lake School system...

Chief thanks for the Forum, we have been getting the word out to parents, about this site in hopes that people will speak out or UP on school issues. I guess we'll see.

Be wary my friends. These are the people that have your childrens future in their hands. And be careful of what you say about school in front of them-little pitchers have big ears.
As I know first hand that our children grow too fast-hopefully the people that run the school will be gone before your kids graduate. But you will have to deal with the bullshit until Tracy(the hippie king) the guy that wanted all the kids to think he was COOL, Jan Hauer(You have to kiss my ass Queen) and just the regular teachers that are afraid of loosing their jobs(I really do work a couple of hours a day and I deserve my paycheck teachers)!!!! GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!
And the Board of Education!! What board member had her son get $4000 in scholarships and had a B-C average? A total flake when it came to study. Smart kid but since his mother was on the School Board did not think he had to worry.
And look at your tax roll for the school. Thank someone for keeping the school tax added to the people who own property on the Lake. That sure helps with the Administration's salary!
SOOO.. Watch your backs and especially your childrens. You don't want them on any list. Remember what they used to say about your permanent record??

Someone sounds a little bitter (wary anonymous friend). Perhaps by focusing your energy on something positive, your purposes would be better served. Have YOU ever done something GOOD for the school???

Anonymous said...

No, not bitter. I've had a couple of kids go to school in G.L and have seen and heard things over the years.
Yes, I have been involved doing things in the school. And I enjoyed most of it at times. But this last year, I have seen many things that are wrong. I hate to say it but I am chicken about being too vocal for fear of it coming back on my child. And some of the teachers and admin. can take it out on THEM.

I cannot help but read the anonymous ("be wary my friends") blog and feel sick inside that someone in our community would stoop so low as to use a kid as a target in what should be an adult discussion about adult issues. (A discussion I am assuming has little or nothing to do with an actual student at Green Lake School, but rather issues they have with the school itself.) Talking about a student's grade, study habits and scholarship awards(of which the facts they quote are incorrect) are so personal and hurtful (not to mention confidential) and what does it achieve? Is attacking an innocent student, what we, as citizens of Green lake want? Really, think about that! If there are problems go to the source, if it is with the President of the Board, the Superintendent, Principal, etc. go to them, LEARN ALL SIDES! I would hope in the future you would not hide behind an anonymous Blog for a cheap shot attacking someone's personal life that actually has nothing to do (I presume) with what the real problems are that concern you. Speaking "Anonymously" is cowardly and ignorant. It shows no desire to really understand the issues or problems, nor does it allow the person you are attacking a fair chance to respond to your concerns, it merely serves as a venue for anger, not resolution. Let's try for resolution!

You should feel sick Julie - the administration at GL school uses our children as targets regularly in what should be adult issues. Attacking innocent students is not what WE want - but the people you claim we can go to as sources are the ones doing just that! They have no interest in learning all sides - only which side make them look good. Some us us cannot speak as freely as you Julie - our children become targets as soon as we open our mouths. I guess you don't have to worry about that...

I do not think speaking on here anonymously is cowardly at all....I have seen first hand what happens when the administration at GLHS feels their decisions are being questioned. I think remaining anonymous is the only way one can protect themsevles and their children from feeling the wrath of the administration simply for questioning their (the administrations') tactics. Everyone is afraid of saying what they feel about this school and what changes they feel should be made (for the wellness of the children, employees, etc.) because our administration has become a "my way or no way" dictatorship! I mean let's be serious.... any principal who is simply questioned by a parent about his decisions and actions regarding students' artwork on the walls of the school (if you are wondering, he said some artwork wasn't good enough for his standards) and then prohibits this parent from substitute teaching is NOT the type of person we need running our school. An administrative official is questioned so instead of dicussing the issue with the parent like a mature adult he just does away with them??? This is just one of the MANY incidents that have occured through out the year. It makes me sick. Hasn't anyone ever told the administration that absolute power corrupts?? I could go on and on about all the horrible incidents that have been occuring in this school but I don't feel like sitting here writing for the next eight hours.

What's up Chief?
Hey, now really, you all have to give the Hippie King his props. He really is an awesome dude. I should know since I've been acquainted with him for awhile. You should stop by and have a face to face conversation with him. I'm sure you'll be converted. I know I was. (I know I got that feeling; got it down in my soul. You know what I'm saying?) He is such a righteous brother!

I'm pretty sure the '06ers had his back because he had their's.

Perhaps, if Cry Me a River (Sister) wants to deal with the reality of the future of the school, she'll show the brother some love and get over not being a homecoming queen and move on with life.

Unbelievable, immature rantings...the only thing that will help with this is face to face dialog and lots of it. Things like this don't get fixed fast- it takes BOTH sides to work together.
What a bunch of crybabies!!!! Always part of the problem...never part of the solution.

Amen to that. I've watched some of the people who come and whine and complain at the start of board meetings. They generally come with incomplete facts, and take a shot at someone like jon tracy, or complain about something they "heard on the street". Why can't more people pick up the phone and make an appointment with Ken Bates, to sit down, get the facts, and be more respectful.

Well, it's the weekend and everyone has some down time to enjoy life. Maybe I could put your minds at rest if you really want to know what's up at the school rather than what the angry people invent every day of the week. If you want the truth, let me know. Thanks.
