Jack Taylor Death

The loss of Jack Taylor last week will have an impact on the community. Jack always ran the car show for Harvest Fest. He would go out to other car show around the state and hand out fliers for this car show. He contacted car clubs. He kept car enthusiasts aware of the car show. It made Harvest Fest special. He pretty much did it on his own. I hope there is a group out there to pick up the slack on the car show because it will be missed.

I hope so, too. The car show is one of Green Lake's best events. Jack did a wonderful job of organizing it.

Perhaps an article in the newspaper asking for someone to step forward to take over the task? (Not everyone reads the blog.) Is there someone out there who is into classic cars and has the time to volunteer?

Jack was a great guy. I hope that the car show portion of Harvest Fest is named in his honor.

I was thinking the same thing! First, we need someone to run the car show every year. Any volunteers?

Interesting that the Chief disabled any further comments on the courthouse. Apparently he didn't like the fact that nobody agreed with him about the casino idea. The majority of people that I talk with love the idea of tearing down the courthouse and building a park. What a nice "green" solution to the problem, and a win-win for the entire community.

It's the chief's blog, ya don't like it, start your own. This is also a topic about Jack Taylors death leaving a big hole in the harvestfest car show. Apparently you are the one who is taking issue with things.

To take on your issue tho, another park is just another expense for a city that already is complaining about not having enough funds to do the things they need to do, and a tax base that is giving the city the finger when it comes to raising said taxes. The city needs revenue generators, not more expenses. Unless you are talking about investing in something like a little oshkosh type park, it's not an attraction. The city already has plenty of very nice parks, we don't need another one.

You want an idea for that lot, how about getting R.M. motorsports to buy it, give them a hell of a tax break for a period of time to invest in doing it, and have their lake oriented business right there in the city. Suggest they could get into renting bikes and mopeds to capitalize on the cycling push thats going on right now.
