New Parking Lot

Now that we have rented the Condon's property for a parking lot this summer shouldn't there be a sign or two indicating boat parking available and maybe some fresh gravel?

Wait a minute... park at the Condon's lot so I can go where exactly? Except for the LC and post office, just where would I have reason to go in Green Lake? GB has its own parking as well. The 2-3 times I'm in there this summer I'll be able to find a spot closer I'm sure. There always seems to be spaces near the Rib as well.
My prediction, you'll see cars in the Condon lot on the 4th, during the fair and Harvest Fest. Renting it for more than that was a waste of $$. How much did we rent this empty lot for?

Who's going to tell people where and HOW to park there? I don't see any lights either-- that should be fun at night when it's dark, maybe the police can park there and watch the goings on-- once MORE the city Jumped before they thought!

The lot is to keep the boat trailers off the street. They take up 2 spaces and they are out on the lake and not patronizing local business. This does not concern you locals. The city is finally doing things right.

Good thought, but who's going to tell the boaters that at 5AM or 6AM when they are heading out on the lake to fish? I guess we'll need to buy a bunch of signs. "Launch here, but park you boat down the street to the right".
Sorry, it sounds good, but in reality, I'm doubtful.

This does not concern "locals"? That's an interesting and very odd observation. Not enough participative commentary takes place among taxpaying/affected residents, but when they do "weigh in" they are blindsided by an array of ignorance and self preservation strategies. Marketing and politics at its best and the peoples better get stand up to it and against it all.

Go to a city council meeting and voice your opinion. This is the way you can see how your tax dollars are being spent.

Oh, ya, go voice your opinion-- you'll have 5 minutes to do so,unless the mayor cuts you off before that! See how far the people's opinion got with the COURT HOUSE!!!!!

Of course there should be signs posted very visibly at both the parking lot and the marina, clearly indicating that the lot is for boat/trailer parking. Hopefully the folks who park there will do so in a sensible fashion, and not park other vehicles in. This really should be more organized! Is the lot insured by the city? What is the liability factor?

I wouldn't be worrying about the liability factor at this point. You have to assume the city has done due diligence in renting the lot. But if they are going to use it they should now make people aware of it and make it nice enough so people will use it. After the summer is over all you will hear about is how no one knew it was there.

I wanted to park my boat trailer today and had no idea where to go. Parking lot? What parking lot? I am so confused.

With the 4th of July, Art Festival, etc. coming up,we need to be "visitor friendly" by giving visitors directions to parking lots. We have had people ask us where there is any parking. The signs at the Condon Lot are so small and the one on South St. if you can read it, says Exit with no directions to show people they Enter on Lake street.

Also signs need to be posted with directions to the parking lot by the tennis courts. We can't expect visitors - or any non-Green Lake resident - to know where these are just because we do - after we have lived here for a while!
