Fire over the weekend

I know some of wish I would post more. Other just wish I would go away. I haven't posted recently because of other things going on with me and not much going on here.

It was sad to see the fire over the weekend at the Kaupe home. Always terrible but particularly at the holidays. I hear it was an electrical problem. Thanks as always to Bill Wagner and our fire department. We have very dedicated people in our small town.

If you want to help the family out financially, it was announced at last nights band concert that the student council has a fund raising drive on this week to collect money for the family. There are donation boxes at the school office and one other place that I cannot remember. Perhaps another poster out there has more information.

This was a very sad event, indeed. Even sadder that the Kaupe's lost their beloved pets in the fire. Thankfully, the rest of the family made it out safely without serious injury. My heart truly goes out to them.

I have heard that their house was originally located on Mill St. Does anyone out there know the history of the house? Just curious.

I was not at the concert but heard that funds could be donated at the Caestecker Public Library in downtown Green Lake.

May God bless us all, every one!

My house burned down a few years ago and it was very traumatic for me and my family. Of those that helped me out emotionally and contributed to getting back on my feet, I thank you. One piece of advice to those who want to help is - think about what you donate to the people you want to help. Please do not just clean out your cupboards and closets and give STUFF to them. (especially if it really used and should be thrown out anyway) What are the peoples sizes, are they kids or grown-ups?
Just give it a thought before you help.
My heart goes out to the Kaupes also. I know what they are going through.I think about the fire every day still. It does get better! Hang in there Dean, Deborah, and family.

Hey Highknocker you have helped us get some things out there! Good work!
Now for the rest of you- do you have to have someone else lead you into thinking? Take the reins and start your own subject!
This started out as a fun thing little tidbits of stuff going on in GL and got to be SOOOOOO intense. Not that some of the topics are not to be discussed but cannot we lighten up a little?
We have alot to deal with living in a small community-lets not just rag at stuff!
I drove by Hattie Sherwood today and saw the geese handing off the ice doing whatever geese do drinking eating fish what ever-
The eagles are back down near the ABA (yeah I have been here a long time and still call it the ABA)
I had ten deer at my bird feeders tonight! I lost a favorite squirrel
in the past month his name was Stubby because his tail had been run over by a car that had not stopped for him-he showed them and limped into my hollow maple. I will miss him he was with me for a long time.
This is the time that we should hang tough, have a few drinks, remember our friends and think that maybe next year we can smile more and wave to our friends more often

This is why this blog has gone to hell. Nobody can say anything about anything without being called names!Something as innocuous as animals can set you off? Shut this thing down Chief.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, even if it is just about geese and dead squirrels. It is the people who can't accept that fact and want the entire blogsite shut down because they can't handle diversity who are obviously touchy and inflexible. I for one like the banter that often takes place on this blogsite. Where else can we blow off steam in this stupid, politically correct world?

Repent. The Lord thy God hast burned another house down because of the wrong doings of these people. He will give you cancer, he will let you host his children and you make them rotten, now he will burn your home. Maybe they will learn someday. I'm going to get a pack of cigarettes.
