Does this include the people who have never had a real job in their life and live off the government?
This is such good news! Double the rate and no sign of recovery in sight. I just read in the local paper that GL County is now considering lay-offs as a result of budget shortfalls. I'm sure there are a few folks in the county that work at Mercury Marine and we all know where that situation is headed (Hint: with our illustrious, Commerce-unfriendly, liberal governor Doyle at the helm, my guess would be Oklahoma)! The company I work for just had more layoffs, as well as Menasha Corp.
So, if the bottom line is the bottom line, I guess that the huge stimulus package that Obuma and his cohorts shoved down our throats has really done wonders for us!
I'm working at a 25% reduction in pay and hoping to stay employed, but illegal immigrants and the 'leeches on society' will have health care and better unemployment benefits.
Oh, by the way, just read this morning how Mr. Wonderful (Barack Obuma) and his glam-fam (Michelle Obama is a glamorous, fashion icon don't cha know!) are going to be vacationing on Martha's Vineyard at some $20Million dollar estate! It will only be for a short period but they'll pay from $35,000-$50,000 for their one week getaway.
To tell you the truth...Our country would be much better off if they would just 'Go Away' and not cause any more economic upheaval!
What a sad, sad state of affairs and the lemmings keep clutching to the promise for change...What did you expect from someone who wrote a book called the audacity of hope. Whenever I hear that title it makes me think of the saying about "if you put hope in one hand and..." - look it up if you don't know it and you'll see where this country is going.

In six short months, Obama has proved to the world that he is an arrogant racist elitist who has no intention of protecting the United States of America or our precious constitution. His administration has taken over the banks, the car companies and now trying to run our health care system. What is really scary is that he still has any supporters, after he has nearly destroyed our country in a mere half a year. What really gets me is that I fully believe that he is not a citizen of the USA. He has yet to prove his citizenship, and has basically refused to do so. He should be charged with and tried for treason, and dealt with according.

I posted this and I stand by it. I'm neither Republican or Democrat. I don't need party affiliation to recognize the biggest con artist ever to have lived in the WH.
If anyone wonders why there is such high unemployment in Green Lake, read the posts on this blog - and then think if you were an employer looking to locate a business, would you want people like this working for you? And don't kid yourself that people looking to live or work or build businesses here don't see this.
I'm not taking sides - the Green Lake approach in general seems to be to attack, smear and tear down. Not a good plan for attracting business or tourists.
Maybe the time has come, Chief, to save Green Lake from itself by taking the whole thing down. No good comes to anyone from this type of viciousness.

I often post (what you consider to be) negative comments on the Inquisitor, and I am an excellent employee, friend, neighbor and community oriented citizen. Just because some of us have constructive criticism and comments does not mean in any way, shape or form that we are tearing down this community. Quite the opposite.

People should honestly understand the topic fully prior to posting. It is NOT nationalized medicine health insurance or socialized medicine. The public plan provisions in H.R. 3200 represent an improvement over previous draft proposals. The Senate is developing different approaches to a public plan. H.R. 3200 would require a public plan to be self-sustaining and not dependent on the federal treasury, and it would not require physicians to participate. It also does not affect the ability of physicians to engage in private contracting arrangements with patients. As the legislative process continues, the details surrounding the public plan option will change considerably.
The government should not run any aspect of health care. They have screwed up medicaid, medicare and social security. They run the post office at a huge loss. They run Amtrak at a huge loss. The takeover of the auto industry is unconstitutional and illegal. Obama is corrupt. The notion of "too big to fail" is going to destroy our country. Let them fail, only the strong will survive. Obama is truly evil. Anyone who supports him is either ignorant or evil.

There really is no argument here, the Obamalover simply has no intelligence. The government sucks at running any type of program. This is a proven fact. The idea that national health care is supposed to be self-sustaining has been proven fiscally impossible by many financial experts. It simply will not ever sustain itself. Obama is already breaking his campaign promises to not raise taxes on the middle class. He is a liar, plain and simple, saying anything he could to get elected. He doesn't have a clue what he is doing.
Why would anyone (with a brain and a real job, as I have) want government run health care? Here's a reason: so that millions of lazy, unproductive people can sponge off society even more! And we hardworking folks can pay for it. It's a nightmare in literally every country that has it, and the US will certainly not be an exception. Yes, changes need to be made in our medical system, and all of the sensible, valid ideas that would actually help this to take place are being shot down by the democrats. Nationalizing health care is NOT the answer.

INCREASE INCOME TAX ON THOSE MAKING LESS THAN $250,000, which Obama has repeatedly said he WOULD NOT do. Funny that Barry's financial guru's Geithner and Bernanke disagree with him not increasing taxes.
Our tax system is already inadequate to support the promises our government has made and this just adds to the problem.
Give our country a chance and follow the lead of the last blogger who urges everyone...Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Green Party(ers), etc., to contact your Senators and Congressmen, contact your local officials, and let them know that you do NOT want a government run health care system. Maybe I am confused. Actually reading the proposed legislation, there doesn't seem like any requirement that citizens opt for the "government option". If you are satisfied with your health plan, keep it. Anyone who thinks that private insurance companies are not milking them for every cent available needs to do a little research. I am surprised that none of the posts (not one) quotes and analyzes an offending portion of the proposed Act. Actually, reading some of the above posts, I'm not surprised. Cool-Aid for both sides.
If you read the proposed legislation make sure to take note of what employers will be required to do. If this gets passed you will see many small business owners going out of business and no new ones to take their place. The implications are extremely detrimental to business and therefore, the economy. This thing is going to blow up in peoples faces.
