Well after a few requests I've decided to see how this goes again. Please try to make your comments civil. I am leaving the ability to make anonymous comments but I may change that if it doesn't seem to work out. We'll see.
Hope everyone had a good Fourth of July. The town was very busy which was great. It is a long winter and you really only have about 16 weeks to make up for a long winter.

What is new at the city council meetings? I have not heard about any issues affecting Green Lake lately.
City of G.L. seems to continue to show signs of a weak disfuncing little city that cannot operate as a city. PW director and employees seem like they don't need to work- just put their hours in and get paid. A uninvolved mayor who is just there to keep someone else from being mayor. Roads are terrible, yellow paint oversprays all over curbs terrible job that one should be fired! Our nice concrete curbs that have been installed on the newer streets over the last 20 years are all chipped and damaged by the idiots in the snow plows- no reason for that! Much overgrowth of trees and plants overhanging on roads garbage truck gets swiped by them and garbage flies all over the streets. A city that employed 3 clerks now can only afford 2?? All these outside private groups and organizations have to do all the things that the city is suppose to do and the city could'nt give a crap! There are more than 150 empty lots in the city limits that are either not for sale or over priced to sell. Water and sewer was suppose to be sold to new customers to help pay for new system but we all have to pay over 30% more on our bills because the mayor won't find ways to grow this city! There needs to be some growth and new tax payers here to help bring this city back to functional. All makes me mad!!!
The City of Green Lake has had a 25% increase in property taxes in the last four years. We are now paying $350 to $400 more per #100,000 in Property Taxes than the Town Of Brooklyn. Looking at these numbers, how can the mayor and members of the city council vote to use city funda to plow snow for the town of Brooklyn.
