Where were you when the Lights went Out?

So what was the cause of the power outage over the weekend? There wasn't any rain? No lightening as far as I could see. What happened?

I am also wondering about this. My grown son was standing on our deck when "it" happened, and said that the sky (to the southwest) flashed bright green. We did not see any lightening, UFO's or crashing airplanes.

We lit a bunch of candles, drank beer in the semi-darkness and then all went to bed early. I prayed as I slipped off to sleep that this was not a terrorist attack and that we Green Lakers were the only remaining humans on earth.

Was the whole city out? How widespread was this outage? How many babies will be born 9 months from Saturday? How many people were hung-over but well rested on Sunday? Stay tuned for these answers and many more...

What memorial was going on Monday Aug. 31 afternoon at Dartford Cemetary? There were a few fire trucks with lights-on and a bag-piper?

I think the memorial was for a disabled/retired fire fighter from Chicago that had been severely burned years ago in an explosion. My understanding was that he had burns over 70% of his body and had been undergoing treatments but his body finally had enough and called it quits. He was buried at Dartford and thus the memorial.
Another unsung hero that lost his life by answering the call of duty!

that was a retired fireman from Chicago. Both of his daughters live here.

I still want to know what happened with the lights, already.
