The Vice President Picks

What do you think about the VP picks? I think McCain outflanked Obama on this one.It is a very bold choice for McCain. First of all a woman is a great choice. Sarah Palin has 5 children, one with Downs syndrome. Obama choice of Biden is not going to be great for his ticket. Too white male for the Hilary supporters. Barack should have picked Hilary I think. I also think the Democrats should be more open to using nuclear energy. Now, with the Gov. of Alaska there will be a bigger possibility of drilling there. Picking Palin will also help negate the age issue for McCain(Although Reagan was older when he was elected).

I think you are correct-a-mundo!!!! I am so excited about McCain's pick, it's a good thing all the way around. Biden is such a smuggert. The whole 'Change' idea went flying right out the window when Obama picked him as his V.P.

Right on Chief - we are in total agreement! I am so happy, I may even watch the Convention now. I have been so sick of all the politics on TV for sooooooo long. Really got old, but this is exciting news!

Sarah Palin is a very interesting choice for Republican VP. She is strong, smart, charismatic and has more common sense and politcal experience that Obama!

I simply cannot believe that anyone anywhere is taking Obama seriously, he is a nobody, has never done anything of any notable importance. It is all just a bunch of media-generated hype. There were some good letters to the editor in this weeks newspapers (GL and Ripon) about his inexperience, very well worded. I guess the Bush-haters are so wrapped up in their own hatred that they cannot think clearly.

Picking a woman as running mate is a clever move by McCain, and yet the Republicans will probably have the class and dignity not to exploit her the way Hilary chose to exploit herself and the way Obama is exploiting himself by using the race issue as some kind of bonus prize. The fact is that Obama is only a fraction "black" (just enough to call himself black). Still, he is more white than black but one thing for sure is that he would not be the democratic presidential pick if he were not black. How ludicrous! Also ironic that he is using McCains wealth as a negative factor, when Obama has plenty of money of his own and is hardly "middle class".

Let's face it, the conservatives are already going to be voting for McCain, so what this boils down to is gaining undecided voters on the Republican side. Sarah Palin is immediately likeable, no-nonsense and NOT a Washington insider! What a great choice!

Go John and Sarah!

Do you realize that if McCain should "die" in office this "green horn" will be President? Has she ever been out of the country?

And when she wakes up at 3a.m., it won't be to answer the red phone, it will be to take care of her six month old child.

The Hillary supporters will not switch to a NRA-Pro-Life person even if she is a female.

No one has ever heard of her, so how can you say she is strong and has common sense. Great she is in favor of drilling for oil. Isn't it about time Americans think about consuming less oil and finding other energy sources?

I'm very disappointed that McCain chose a VP for the electability factor and not in case he would have to be replaced.

Palin is a little scary to me. She hasn't even been gov. for two years yet. She was the mayor of a town smaller than Ripon. She is an evangelical Christian with very strong views about religion which I think have no place in running a government. If McCain dies in office her foreign policy experience is zero. Not good.

Obama has never even governed a small town. He has no experience as an executive at any level. If a person's views have no business being part of the way they govern, no one would be able to be in office.

To me these comments really seem to break on party lines. The fact is Obama has no executive experience, no military experience and has never even written a bill for legislation. Palin at least has executive experience. I guess if you look at it as she would be a heartbeat away from the President... Obama would be the President... Eeeekkk.

The difference I read here is the same old arguement between parties... No one is going to change anyones mind on who to vote for that's for sure. Those who have already decided who they are going to vote for will argue till the cows come home for there side.

And for those of you that say McCain picked her as VP for political gain... so what. What do you think Obama was doing picking Biden??? Can't you see your own parties motivations. His 'Change' motto went right out the window with that choice.

And, just a side note - Biden has no executive experience either. So vote wisely and remember this is a very important election. Our very way of life could be at stake here. Think hard about who you want in charge of our Military and who do you think will bring us independence from foreign oil. We have all we need right here in the U.S. No wonder the world hates us, we ask them to do what we refuse to do for ourselves. They probably see us a greedy since we won't even tap our own resources and just use up all of theirs.

This is going to be a very interesting election indeed!

Please watch this very interesting background perspective on Obama. Granted that the narative is totally slanted, but the audio/video clips within are real and fact as they were said.

It may change the way you vote!

A gun carrying fundamentalist conservative; Oh yea, that has worked so well for us these last eight years. Stuck in a war with people who didn't attack us, run away spending, skyrocketing inflation, ignoring the medical crisis, refusal to really face up to our energy problems, costs, etc, etc.

Sorry, I have had it with the conservative agenda. McCain - Palin offer no hope things will change, they'll continue us down the some path that Cheney - Bush have had us on.

The good news, now that it's election season, I heard a report that oil might fall below $80 a barrel. Imagine that?

If you have not watched the video on the internet that the previous blog mentioned, you owe it to yourself and the future of our world to do so before you vote for Obama!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUdjhKbImwE

I watched this video and the question that I ask myself is: how could anyone with half a brain in their head think that Barack Obama is any way qualified or ready to be president of the United States of America??? He is as unpatriotic as they get, and has a hidden agenda of his own that would obliterate the very foundation of our country.

It is truly frightening!

Enquiring minds want to know...

If you're basing you judgments on a bunch of clips and sound bites on You Tube manipulated and doctored up by anyone who wants to have you see things their way, then you scare me a lot more than Obama.

Keep you head in the sand and pretend it isn't real. What part of the video didn't you understand? It was far more factual than any film that Michael Moore ever made.

Sarah Palin's speech on Wednesday night was brilliant, outstanding, inspired. The Nielson polls show that as many people watched her speech as watched Obama during his speech. She is more qualified to be president that Obama, and yet she is only running as VP. The democrats are fuming, and boy do they stink when they fume.

I loved when Sarah Palin said that through good times and bad in our country, she has always been proud to be an American. What a great punch in the face to Mrs. Obama, who clearly stated that she has never been proud to be an American until her husband was running for president. Of course, later on she tried to twist her own words around to justify what she said, but there is no other way to interpret this.

Obama is going to be interviewed on the Bill O'Reilly show this evening, Thursday, on Fox News channel which is channel 70 on my TV. Don't miss it!

I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight*.....

If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're
"exotic, different."

Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.

If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well
grounded.

If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer,
become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years
in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city
council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000
people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.

If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while
raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're
not a real Christian.

If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.

If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's.

If you're husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and was a member for years of a group that advocated the secession
of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.
